Fry was cut loose after posting a serviceable 4.50 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 12/5 K/BB ratio across 10 innings (seven appearances) this season for Triple-A Toledo. The 29-year-old lefty hasn't appeared in the majors since the 2021 campaign and signed a minor league contract with Detroit back in February.

Fry showed promise in the White Sox bullpen a few years back, but he's been a non-factor the last two years. In 2022, he pitched in the Nationals and Phillies systems, finishing with a 5.34 ERA in 30 1/3 innings in the minors.

Fry was released by the Nationals last weekend and quickly latched on with the division-rival Phillies. The 28-year-old lefty has posted a solid 3.77 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 20/8 K/BB ratio across 14 1/3 innings (15 appearances) this season at the Triple-A level. He'll bolster Philadelphia's organizational relief depth moving forward.

The 28-year-old southpaw made six appearances at the big league level for the White Sox in 2021, posting a troublesome 10.80 ERA and 2.40 WHIP over 6 2/3 innings. For his career, he owns a 5.04 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 168/86 K/BB ratio across 139 1/3 frames. He'll add bullpen depth for the Nats.
