NFL DFS Week 14 QB Coach: Jalen Hurts, Kirk Cousins, Aiden O'Connell

Week 14 of the NFL season has arrived and we are back to the 10 game main slate on DraftKings and 11 game main slate on FanDuel.

Fresh off Thanksgiving week, we have an exciting slate with a lot of top QB options to build our lineups around which includes a headlining matchups for Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts and more!

As with every week, this week, we once again look to take advantage of some top matchups for our NFL DFS Week 14 QB coach as I bring you my NFL DFS Week 14 QB coach top targets, values and fades to build your lineups around this weekend.

NFL DFS Week 13 QB Coach Recap

The value tier for this past week was a hit with Drake Maye and Bryce Young leading the way as top 10  scoring QB's for the week. We also had the correct call on fading Kirk Cousins as he finished as QB22 overall.

Lamar Jackson was QB4 in the top tier but the rest of the QB's let us down. C.J. Stroud wasn't able to get much going against the Jaguars and Matthew Stafford wasn't able to overcome a poor first half.

NFL DFS QB Top Tier Picks For Week 14

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills - DraftKings: $8,000  | FanDuel: $8,900

Top priced QB on the slate this week, Allen had 28 fantasy points against the 49ers in Week 13 as he and the Bills went unphased by the snowy, cold conditions. Allen threw for two scores and ran for another which marked his third straight game with a rushing touchdown.

Allen could have Keon Coleman back this week while the status for Dalton Kincaid remains up in the air. 

Either way, this is a good spot for him against the Rams average at best pass defense.

Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles -  DraftKings: $7,800  | FanDuel: $9,200

It wasn't the explosive week we've come to expect from Jalen Hurts in Week 13 as he was only able to muster 118 yards passing. His day wasn't a complete bust as he added another rushing touchdown to his stat sheet, giving him 12 rushing touchdowns now on the season.

Week 14 brings about a home matchup against the Carolina Panthers. This figures to be a thrashing by the Eagles in this game and though Saquon Barkley is going to be super popular, it's also just as likely we get two or more rushing touchdowns from Hurts in this game as well.

NFL DFS QB Mid-Tier Picks For NFL Week 14

Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - DraftKings: $6,400 | FanDuel: $8,100

Another week where Mayfield is in the QB coach. He continues to be very consistent and getting Mike Evans back only helps matters. Yes, the running game has taken away some of his thunder of late but he has yet another favorable matchup, at home this week against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins - DraftKings: $6,300 | FanDuel: $8,300

Sure, the strength of the Jets defense is their secondary but we often talk about the "Miami Flu' which can impact cold weather teams when they head to Miami in December, especially teams that are already out of the playoff hunt and that's what we have here with the New York Jets. No, I'm not guaranteeing that some of the Jets players may be looking forward the Miami nightlife but they certainly wouldn't be the first team to struggle in Miami on a Sunday afternoon.

Tua has looked good lately, throwing for nine touchdown passes over the last three weeks while averaging over 300 yards per game passing.

With Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Jonnu Smith and De'Von Achane all making big plays in the passing game over the past few weeks, Tua looks poised for a strong finish to his 2024 season.

NFL Week 14 DFS QB Value Picks

Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons - DraftKings: $5,500 | FanDuel: $7,000

Who doesn't love narratives? Cousins returns to Minnesota for the first time since leaving the organization this offseason for the Atlanta Falcons.

Now, this really hasn't been a great season for Cousins outside of a few games against the Buccaneers but the Vikings pass defense has been pretty bad lately and Cousins still has the likes of Drake London, Kyle Pitts, Darnell Mooney and Bijan Robinson at his disposal to make some plays this weekend.

Will Levis, Tennessee Titans - DraftKings: $5,000 | FanDuel: $6,600

Maybe we are finally starting to see the maturation of Will Levis? It was a pretty brutal start to the 2024 year for Levis with his poor decision making, turnovers and then injury which sidelined him for a bit. But since coming back he has been a solid value play. He continues to throw touchdowns to  Nick Westbrook-Ikhine-Ihkne and Calvin Ridley has re-established himself as a top target in the NFL. This week the Titans have an elite matchup against the Jaguars where another 16-to-17 fantasy point effort from Levis would pay off the price tag.

Aiden O'Connell, Las Vegas Raiders - DraftKings: $4,800 | FanDuel: $6,700

Let's keep the trend going when it comes to 4k QB's in the QB coach. I haven't been shy about including Bryce Young over the past few weeks and he's come through for us, including last week with a big performance against the Buccaneers while O'Connell looked really good against the Chiefs.

This week we focus on Aiden O'Connell who gets the same matchup that Bryce Young had against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nothing is really changing here with the play. The Buccaneers are still a really bad pass defense and O'Connell has some really good receivers in Brock Bowers, Jakobi Meyers and even Tre Tucker is starting to be a reliable downfield threat.

It doesn't take a ton for O'Connell to pay off a $4,800 price tag and this is certainly a good matchup for him to do it.

NFL DFS QB Fades For Week 14

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers - DraftKings: $6,200 | FanDuel: $8,000

I like that he's home but the Bears pass defense isn't too bad nor is their pass rush. We also don't know how healthy Purdy really is. Add in the fact that the 49ers lost both Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason last week and this offense just may be too inconsistent for me to trust.

NFL Week 14 QB Play Of The Week

Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings - DraftKings: $6,100 | FanDuel: $7,600

While we like the Kirk Cousins narrative of him returning to Minnesota it is his counterpart that I have as my top QB play this week per dollar. Darnold has thrown two touchdown passes in each of the last three weeks and is averaging nearly 20 fantasy points per game over the last five games.

Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson are all making plays and the Falcons pass defense has been good overall but certainly not shutdown even with AJ Terrell on the outside.
