Underdog Fantasy MLB Picks - Best Picks & Plays for June 29: Javier Báez and Adolis García Remain Hot

When looking at the board of MLB player props on Underdog Fantasy for today’s Major League Baseball action, there were a few player props in particular that jumped out at me. Detroit Tigers infielder Javier Báez has been one of the hottest hitters in Major League Baseball of late, and he finds himself in a good matchup on the road against the San Francisco Giants. Former top prospect Mitch Keller has been pitching great of late for the Pittsburgh Pirates, and while he’s facing a team that doesn’t strike out a lot, his line is too low and we need to take advantage of it. Lastly, Zack Greinke seems like the strangest, most eclectic guy out there, but Adolis García should get the best of him today, just like he has in recent memory. These are the three plays I’m locking in today to 6x my entry fee, so after a 3-for-4 day from James Grande yesterday, let’s ride with this trio today! Here are my favorite player props and MLB picks for Wednesday, June 29th on Underdog Fantasy.
MLB Player Props Underdog Fantasy June 29
Javier Báez OVER 6.5 Fantasy Points
Baez is 7-for-16 with two home runs in his career against Alex Wood, and he’s red hot of late, hitting .379 with an .828 slugging percentage over his last seven games. He gets a good matchup against a left-hander that he’s familiar with, and this particular southpaw has allowed righties to hit .302 against him this season. In the month of June, Baez is hitting .319 on the road with a 972 OPS, .412 wOBA, and 174 wRC+. Additionally, Wood has a 5.47 ERA this month, which makes me like Baez even more. Seven fantasy points is easily doable today for Baez, as he can tally up fantasy points on a moment's notice.
Adolis García OVER 1.5 Total Bases
Garcia is 6-for-10 in his career with one home run and a .667 wOBA against Kansas City’s Zack Greinke, and that’s just the beginning of my love for Garcia today. Beyond the BvP data, he’s hitting .310 with a .621 slugging percentage over his last 29 at-bats, and he’s been superior against right-handed pitching, as he’s posted a .284 average, .245 ISO, and .360 wOBA against righties this season. Garcia is in the midst of a 10-game hit streak and he has two or more total bases in five of his last six contests.
Mitch Keller OVER 3.5 Strikeouts
Washington doesn’t strike out a lot, and we know that, but this line is so low that we have to pounce. Keller has four or more strikeouts in all but one of his last five starts and he’s sporting a 2.82 ERA here in the month of June. If you like overall trendlines, on a rolling average, he’s up and to the right in terms of swinging strike rate and O-Swing%, which is good for strikeout potential.
Over the last two weeks, the Nationals are hitting just .226 as a team with a .301 wOBA and 91 wRC+. Earlier this year when Keller was struggling, he recorded four strikeouts against Washington, and now that he’s pitching better, there’s no reason to believe that he can’t do it again. Three and a half strikeouts is simply too low.

Bryce Miller said Sunday evening that he’s been pitching through arm soreness and back tightness.
Miller was tagged for seven runs over five innings on Sunday in a loss to the Blue Jays before telling reporters that he’s been dealing with some lingering physical issues that have impacted his on-field performance. It doesn’t sound like he’s at risk of missing his next start on Saturday against the Padres, but it’s a variable that fantasy managers need to monitor in upcoming outings.
Ronald Acuña Jr. (knee) launched a solo homer on Tuesday in a minor league rehab game in the Rookie-level Florida Complex League.
Acuña went deep in his third and final at-bat of the contest and also completed six innings defensively in right field during his rehab debut. Atlanta’s front office hasn’t disclosed how long his rehab stint might last, but we’re anticipating the 27-year-old fantasy superstar getting at least a couple weeks of minor league contests under his belt to knock off some rust and get back up to full speed. It’s possible he’ll be ready to make his season debut at some point in late May or early June.
