As fantasy baseball nation awaits "who's next?", we often forget those that already got the call... and were sent back down for one reason or another. Some sparkled in their opportunity in the spotlight, others simply weren't ready. As we head into June, and the middle third of the season, players that fall into this category are growing and will continue to do so. In this edition of The Farm Report, we take a look at position players who were part of "The Show:", but are currently either back in the minors or injured, awaiting their next shot.

Oswaldo Arcia OF Minnesota- After a surprisingly solid debut, Arcia was sent back to Triple-A in advance of Memorial Day weekend. Since that time, Arcia has developed some shoulder issues and the Twins are proceeding cautiously with their future star. Arcia is hitting .298 at Rochester with six home runs.
Jesus Montero C Seattle- Who won the Michael Pineda-Jesus Montero trade? Is it possible that nobody did? Sent down to Triple-A Tacoma a couple of weeks ago, Montero is now sidelined for four-to-six weeks with a torn meniscus in his left knee. My question remains, where is Mike Zunino?
Jackie Bradley OF Boston- After earning a spot on the opening day roster, Bradley was sent to Pawtucket. Bradley was called back up, but was in Boston for only ten days before getting sent back down on Saturday. Bradley has been raking in Triple-A at a .354 clip with a pair of home runs and nine RBI.
Josh Rutledge 2B Colorado- The Rox surprised many in fantasy nation when they sent Rutledge to Triple-A Colorado Springs on May 22nd. Rutledge was providing solid middle infield numbers with five home runs, 13 RBI and five steals. The Rox opted for stronger defense in DJ LeMahieu.
Dee Gordon SS LA Dodgers- Gordon had a three week stint with the Dodgers last month, but struggled, hitting only .175. Gordon did steal five bases, which is of course why he is fantasy material. Hanley Ramirez' constant injury problems may result in a return, but Don Mattingly has indicated otherwise.
Brandon Laird 1B Houston- Laird arrived with a bang in late April, going three-for-four in his debut with a home runs and four RBI. Laird's stay lasted less than two weeks with a trip back to Oklahoma City. Laird is hitting .270 in Triple-A with five home runs and 27 RBI.
Michael Taylor OF Oakland- Taylor got the call and spent about three weeks in the majors during late April and early May. The 6'5" 260 pound prospect did nothing to show he deserved to be there, hitting .043, going one-for-23. At Sacramento, Taylor is hitting .319 with six home runs and 25 RBI.
Brett Wallace1B Houston- Once a mega-prospect, Wallace has been involved in trades for Matt Holliday, Roy Halladay and Roy Oswalt. Wallace was on the Houston opening day roster and appeared in seven games before getting sent to Oklahoma City. Wallace has done well there @ .310 with eight home runs.
Eury Perez OF Washington- We had a brief Eury Perez sighting here in DC last month, all of nine days to be exact. With injuries to Bryce Harper, Jayson Werth and even a banged up Denard Span, still not further sightings. Perez can certainly run with nine steals in 39 games at Triple-A Syracuse.
Ryan Wheeler1B Colorado- Wheeler had a brief, one week stay with the Rockies at the end of April, going one-for-nine at the plate in very limited action. At Triple-A Colorado Springs, Wheeler is hitting .325 with three home runs, 33 RBI and three stolen bases. May find a role if Todd Helton ever retires.
Xavier Avery OF Baltimore- Talk about a cup of tea, Avery was called up by the Orioles on Thursday, didn't play and was sent back down to Norfolk. In Triple-A, Avery is hitting .246 with six RBI and six stolen bases in 19 games. Avery played well at Double-A Bowie and is slowly climbing the ladder.
