We’re just a week away from the July 31st non-waiver trade deadline, but as any baseball fan worth his/her salt knows, the trades don’t even come close to stopping there.  The waiver trade deadline in August (trades where players must first clear waivers before being dealt) is also a hotbed of action as it usually involves several marquee players whose contracts can be burdensome to smaller market teams and therefore have little problem slipping through the waiver system.  So the bottom line is that we’re looking at a few more weeks of potential player movement and subsequent fantasy unrest.

Rounding the Bases: Is Nolan Reimold for Real?

When you’re looking through the stats page of your fantasy league, there are plenty of familiar names sitting at the top due to hot starts to the season.  Matt Kemp has been a beast, once again, and leads the majors with eight home runs while players like Curtis Granderson, Ian Kinsler, Josh Hamilton, and Hanley Ramirez, continue to prove their fantasy value and worthiness of their draft spots this spring.  But this season, there sits another name atop the value rankings and given the last few season’s worth of playing time and results, he stands out like….well I hate to use the expression, “like a turd in a punchbowl,” but really, he’s that noticeable.  I’m talking about Orioles outfielder Nolan Reimold, who has begun this season raking like a champ and already way out-earning his draft position.

Even when we are live in San Francisco, California you can still count on Fantasy Alarm to deliver the best fantasy information out there.  The Fantasy Sports Trade Association Summer Conference starts today, and Jeff and I will be doing a football draft tonight, but we are still of course focused on baseball.  We have talk of a starting pitcher who everyone loves that really isn't very good, but was great today.  We have a struggling second baseman who looks like he is starting to turn the corner, as well as a couple of starters who might have figured it out.  There are those stories and so much more if you dive into Rounding The Bases.

Another week of the fantasy baseball season is in the books and we are now well into the month of June.  For all of you who are looking for something new with Rounding The Bases, we are starting a new feature in this article as we will now give you a pitching streamer for you to focus on.  Since I figure that a lot of you actually read the article the morning after it is published, the streamer will be two days in the future.  So today, Sunday, I will give you a pitcher to stream for Tuesday.  Once we get into a rotation, I will also post the results of the pitcher that I chose so you can see how I do.  So not only will get a great recap of the night's events, you will now have a pitcher that can help you win your matchup each night.
