Well, Tuesday’s trade deadline brought on a flurry of activity in the baseball world which obviously sends ripples through the fantasy community as well. There were a number of expected movers and shakers in there along with a few surprising non-participants as well. Some of the deals have serious fantasy ramifications while others were more pertinent to the real baseball world, so let’s just go through them and see what’s affecting your fantasy teams here.

After throwing his 122nd pitch of the night and watching Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton weakly ground out to shortstop Tyler Pastornicky, Brandon Beachy stepped off the mound and celebrated with his teammates, leaving no doubt as to whom the ace of the Braves staff was this season. It was his fifth win of the season, first complete game, seventh quality start in eight games started, and the fourth time he pitched a minimum of seven innings. With a 1.33 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP, Beachy has established himself as one of the best in the game right now and is giving fantasy owners plenty to smile about.

It is the end of another week in fantasy baseball and as usual there is a ton of news. As always there is injury news with a Panda and a Tabata and one doesn't seem too bad while the other is crushing. I give you a guy I think should be in the All-Star game that isn't getting any attention and a National League pitcher that got off to a great start that is starting to collapse. It was a day of unprobably stolen bases as some of the fattest asses in the majors got in the SB column, and a former first round pick is starting to finally make a bit of noise in fantasy. If you can't wait to find out what the hell I am talking about, wait no more and enjoy Rounding The Bases.
Happy Memorial Day! Today we pay tribute to the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces, and take the time to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice and laid down their lives in defense of this country. We at Fantasy Alarm have nothing but the utmost respect for those who serve and have served to protect us and the liberties and principles of the United States. We thank you for your service this day. It is a rough transition to fantasy baseball, but Memorial Day has become a big day in the Major League Baseball season. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the news of the day in Rounding The Bases.

There is a LOAD of bad injury news this season, including two guys that you really didn't want to see in the same sentence as the word injury. One Yankee star continues to lead the league in long balls, while perhaps their best hitter took one in the dome today. There is a potential closer who is having trouble between the ears, and a catcher who is having trouble between the legs. We have a Twins closer blowing a game, while a hitter trying to keep them in it. Lastly there is a hot prospect who goes yard, while a returning speedster is stealing bags like it is his job. All of that and don't forget to sign up for the Fantasy Alarm service to be sure that you never have to start a benched player again.
