Five games into the season and you’ve got one guy with 41 catches, 580 yards and two touchdowns. Deeee-lish. Three games with over 100 yards and four out of five weeks with double-digit fantasy points in standard leagues; double-digit points in all five in PPR play. Fantastic. These were the joys celebrated by Julio Jones owners everywhere….until word came down after the Falcons’ Monday night loss to the Jets that Jones was hurt. And not just ‘sit out practice, miss a week’ hurt. We’re talking real hurt. Hurt hurt. Hurt your fantasy team hurt.
It's Week 4 of the NFL season meaning we've got data to review in order to help us to make more informed decisions in fantasy football. That doesn't mean there is ever unanimity if you ask the experts, and it doesn't mean that the numbers always lead to the correct answer. However history matters a bit, as does current levels of production, usage, matchups etc. This week we'll share our thoughts on some of the better Week 4 matchups out there as you try to continue building upon what was hopefully a solid start to the football season for your fantasy club (who are we kidding, there's no way anyone reading this has only one fantasy football team).
Sports Tradex is a fantasy sports stock exchange for predicting team and player performance. Users compete in a virtual account or a virtual stock market for cash prizes by predicting things like who will have most fantasy points in the Super Bowl. We also have some real world events like the whole course of the playoffs every team might be a stock and ultimately the team, in this example the team that wins the Super Bowl will be worth $100 a share and everyone else ultimately worth $0. Until the outcome is known, the trading occurs all between users on the site 24/7 including during games, which is a really exciting, new level of engagement for the fan. They offer several different types of contest which I will breakdown for you along some picks for the upcoming games.
It’s only Week 2 and the fantasy community feels so tense, you’d think we were already in a do or die, win and you’re in situation already. It’s crazy, really. The sense of panic that I feel from some of these emails I receive is immense. There’s so much talk of dropping guys you shouldn’t drop or benching guys you shouldn’t bench, it’s almost worrisome. Take a deep breath, folks. One week does not a season make.
